Check...1,2...1,2....is this thing on?
Ahem, could I have your attention please? Welcome all "Glow Plugs" to another edition of the Diezel news.
We want to thank Melva and the staff of Cactus Annie's in Merritt for a fantastic weekend, once again! Melva, you are one of our absolute heroes and we are eternally grateful for your personal support of this band. Countless times you have come to our rescue when we had a cancellation in our schedule and were happy to bring us in for an extra week to keep us goin! That is above and beyond the call and is NEVER taken for granted my Dear! Bless you for your belief in us.
Special thanx, as well, to Stu, Rolie and Brian for their efforts at the Walk of Stars stage on Sat., sorry we got 'MONSOONED' out guys! We still appreciated all your work, the ribs n beers were fantastic regardless of the torrential devastation!
We would also, at this time, like to take this opportunity to bid a fond farewell to our friend and cohort, Chad Drover. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors and hope that you'll have good memories of your time with Diezel to take along with you. Thanx for your service...long may you run.
Naturally, this means that if a member is leaving, there must be somebody new entering the fold! Ladies and Gentlemen...it gives us great pleasure to welcome the bass guitar talents of Darren (Deej) Genovese!!! (insert standing ovation here...) I have had the pleasure of working with Darren in the past and am looking forward to this "rhythm section reunion!" (Bio and Pics to come!!) We are both privileged and honored to have you joining the family, Brother...here's to a great future!
Congratulations to Marty on the release of his solo CD “Tuesdays with Crunchy”! It will be available at all of our shows. Be sure to check it out! Awesome CD!!!!
On that note folks, keep your eyes on the "shows link" of this website and come check us out as the "2010, Paint The Town Jack" tour rolls through your town. B safe out there!!! Diezel loves you!!!
Strength & Honor,

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the MOMs out there!
OK kids, gather 'round your computers & listen to Uncle Billy thank a whole bunch of very important people that y'all need to be aware of!
It's been a few weeks of travel n several different venues have made us feel very welcome and often like family. We are not only grateful but proud to be part of this industry with you.
Let's start with a HUGE thank you to Dave & Dorothy at The New Frontier in Ft. St. John. Everybody needs to know that the generosity and hospitality we were shown by these people was immeasurable! The entire band left with T-shirts, hats, and a feeling of true camaraderie and friendship! We can't thank you and your helpful staff enough for making our week there so memorable. Dave, your stories and "No BS" personality is what makes you one of our nearest n dearest brothers! Be well my friend and know that we are proud to know you and your wonderful wife.
To the Great Northern Casino in Grande Prairie, we always look forward to coming back and giving you our best. We appreciate the awesome rooms, awesome food and awesome staff! You guys really know how to be Pro, and that means the world to us. We already can't wait for next time! Kudos!!
Gwen, Gwen, Gwen....where do we even start! LOL! At least this time I didn't get a chance to destroy a perfectly good ham in a blackout!! LOL!! (Long story folks...let's leave well enough alone shall we...) I digress...We can only say so much about The Boomtown Casino in Ft. Mac cuz we only have so much room on a page to work with. The staff at this venue is literally like family to us and we owe a debt of gratitude. Special thanx to Ariel (hope I spelled that right Hun) for breakin' out the fiddle n joining us on stage for a few tunes. That was fun! Eddie, your drum sounds ALWAYS rock my friend!! Anne and Angela behind the bar...you are GOLD to us! To Jane in the cafeteria...keep bein' Jane in the cafeteria and we'll just keep eatin'!!! You make us feel special...in an "Olympic" kinda way.
Shhhhh.....everybody.....no seriously...shhhhhh......do you all hear that? That's the sound of Serge Soucey's AWESOMENESS!!! We were both privileged and honored to have you on board with us this past week at the infamous County Line Saloon in the T&C Hotel. We had so much fun workin' with you brother and look forward to the next opportunity to do so. You are a class act and one of our favorite "go-to guys." Thank you for sharing your talents with us! Mr. Al Hennessy, you honestly did such an amazing job with Freddie and I in the absence of our usual line up that we often didn't even remember you were there...and I mean that in the best and kindest sense! What a trouper my friend. It was a pleasure!! Thank you! Jerry Toland...the gear was perfect and I tip my absolutely recognizable hat in your general direction. Thanx for the kit man!
I sincerely hope I haven't missed anybody and if your name wasn't mentioned specifically, it's simply due to my lack of memory and NEVER your lack of input and support! You know who you are and so do we! Thank you for making Diezel what it is today.
Strength & Honor to all of our "Glow Plugs!"
Be safe until next time....

Hey y'all!! Whhaaassssuuuuppp ya crazy Glow Plugs!!
The Diezel boys are very pleased to be back to doing what we do best after a "far too long" hiatus. The schedule is lookin' pretty busy for us over the next couple months, so that means we are very likely headed your direction, whichever venue that may be! Consider yourselves warned!!
I'd like to start by taking a quick moment to send our most sincere thoughts & prayers to Dwayne and Joleen Dalton and family, whom, recently survived a tragic fire in their home which claimed all of their personal possessions. Fortunately, everyone escaped with their lives but some very serious 3rd degree burns were inflicted upon some of the family members. The band has chosen to donate a case of our CDs to a fundraiser benefiting the family to help get them back to some kind of normal lifestyle again. We wish them a speedy recovery and a generous portion of human spirit!! Sometimes bad things happen to good people....it's what we choose to do with those circumstances that will either see us through or bring us down. Keep the Faith my friends!!
On a lighter note, we would also like to take this opportunity to welcome the 5th and newest member to the fold...none other than "Mr. Jack Daniels!!" (Insert standing ovation here...) A very special "shout-out" to the staff at Gabby's Country Cabaret in Langley for their VERY generous donation of a life-size statue of the man himself which we are now taking along with us to many of the upcoming shows, stage size permitting! Yup...that's right...this is an exact replica of the statue of Jack that greets you at the entrance of the tour in Lynchburg Tennessee, where the "fuel for our Diezel engines" is made! So, come on out & sign Jack as we continue our "Paint The Town Jack" tour 2010!
See y'all on the road!!
Strength & Honor,
Billy, Freddie Jo "Daniels", Marty & Chad.

Hey all you little "glow-plugs" out there in "cyber Diezel-land!" It's Billy here! I'm very proud to have been given the honor of writing all the updates and installments of the Diezel news from this point on. I'm lookin really forward to it and will do my best to keep you all abreast of what's goin on in our crazy year! (Sorry...I said breast...) The glow plugs are the parts of a diesel engine that it just couldn't run without. I figured it was an appropriate nick name for our fans cuz...well...you do the math! Anyway...let the madness begin!
As Freddie Jo spends the next week in FREAKIN' MEXICO, I figured I'd take a minute to put together this little hello to let you all know we are back safe & sound from our first real road trip of Diezel's 2010 "Paint The Town Jack" tour. 2 weeks in Calgary in the middle of January isn't exactly glamorous, but we always have fun no matter where we are!! I'm also pretty sure the Bow Valley Brewing Co. will miss our presence in their province GREATLY! Nuff said...
As always, a special thank you to the great staff at The County Line Saloon in the T&C Hotel. You guys are SO awesome to us and we love you all. Cheers!!
Also a huge thank you and kudos to Lori and the gang at The Country Roads in The Radisson Hotel. Not just a fantastic gig, but great people to work with on a weekend. We couldn't do it the way we do without you!
The drive back was snowy but it went quickly and wouldn't have been the same without a sighting of a herd of "snow goats" (that's Big Horn Sheep to those who know) along the highway. Marty wasn't quite sure what they were called, so the rest of us got a pretty good laugh at his expense. Snow goats? Sorry brother, but it was hilarious, you gotta admit! Love ya man!!
Until next time, all the best and be safe out there.
Strength & Honor,
Billy, Freddie Jo, Marty & Chad.

We wish each and every one of you, our fans, a Very Merry Christmas and all the Best in 2010!
2009 was a very busy year for us. The beginning of the year saw new beginnings for the band as well. We returned to our roots; returned to “Diezel”. We bestowed our best wishes on Adrian as he pursued new endeavours and welcomed Chad Drover into the band.
Diezel reached number one on NCI FM radio for a couple weeks this summer with “We’re All Here (Cause We Ain’t All There). Life Flies, a self portrait song penned by Freddie Jo, also reached the top five. This was a very exciting time for us and we thank you for your support in making it happen.
This past year saw us playing in a number of new venues: Country Roads Saloon in the Radisson Hotel in Calgary, The New Frontier in Fort St. John, the Great Northern Casino in Grande Prairie and the Kamloops Rodeo Dance. Playing these venues was a blast and hopefully we made some new fans along the way.
As always though, we were happy to be welcomed back to play to some good friends and loyal fans at such familiar places as: Gabby’s Country Cabaret in Langley, The Big B Saloon in Mission, the Country Line Saloon at the Town and County Motor Inn in Calgary, Northern Lights Casino in Prince Albert, SK., Wild Bill’s Legendary Saloon in Banff, the Boomtown Casino in Fort McMurray, and our home away from home, Cactus Annie’s in Merritt. It was terrific to get to play for you!
It was an honour for us to play with such fine musicians as Daniel Hagen, Shane Chisholm, and Serge Soucy. Thank you all for joining us.
We had a great time bowling against Dr. Hook and his band. Hopefully they enjoyed it as much as we did.
Again, Merry Christmas Everyone! Thank you for your support in 2009; we look forward to seeing you in 2010!!!

We would like to thank Dave, Dorothy and the staff from the New Frontier for a great weekend. We enjoyed our first weekend playing in Fort Saint John, and are looking forward to coming back.
Special thanks to the boys from Dr Hook; Freddie Lee, Stevie Ray Anderson, KC Sawyer, and Kenny Kramer for getting up and playing with us. Also, for the invite to their show the last night. We had a blast with them after the show! Another special thanks to Freddie Lee for the B 52's and the 6 other different types of shooters he was able to invent. We are looking forward to the “Bowl Off” between Diezel and Dr Hook.
