Diezel
We will be playing at Gabby's this weekend!
DIEZEL'S YEAR - 2011

Diezel is by far the hardest working road band on the west coast. This year we traveled 44,340 km, performing 143 nights. A total of 672 sets at 45 minutes per set.   This adds up to 30,240 minutes or 504 hours or 21 days straight, spending more then 190 days on the road traveling and staying in hotels !

This year has brought Diezel a lot of High’s and Low’s. First off, the lost of Billy’s brother was a tragic loss. Our deepest sympathy goes out to all of his family. A hard year to try and stay focused, but Billy being a professional was solid back on the drums, as usual.

A Good friend of the band and the owner of the New Frontier in Fort St John, Dave Budnick, had a close call. Dave ended up in the Hospital with a life threatening infection in his chest but being the toughest (S.O.B) we know, he pulled through. For this we are very grateful, as I’m sure are all of his friends and family! See you at the “Moonshine Festival” Dave!

Another special friend of the Diezel Band is Melvina White. We appreciate all that you do for us and all BC artist, Melva. You are a ray of sunshine every time you walk in the room. We are so glad that your place (Desert Inn) will be the new BCCMA Hall of fame!!! I’m sure all BC artists will be proud of your accomplishment, we LOVE you Melva.

We would like to thank these folks for keeping us busy throughout the year: Claire (County Line Saloon in the Town and Country Motor Inn, Calgary, AB) Darcy Clendenning (Elbow River Casino, Calgary, AB), Lisa Scroggie (Casino Lethbridge, Lethbridge, AB) Paul Lomheim (Northern Lights Casino, Prince Albert, SK) Wanda Feland (Great Northern Casino, Grande Prairie, AB) Butch Fox and Joe Firth (Oilcan, Fort McMuray, AB) Gwen Vergouwen (Boomtown Casino, Fort Murray, AB) Melvina White (Cactus Annie’s, Merritt, BC) Steve Gallagher (Gabby’s, Langley, BC) and Todd O’Toole (Quinsam Hotel, Campbell River, BC).

We would also like to thank all of the musicians that were part of the Diezel band this year: Real Fagnan, Allan Hennessey, Serge Soucey, Alex Krahe, Shane Chisholm, Marty Lapensee, Jerry Toland and our honourable members of Diezel, Butch Fox, Kenny Derasp, Jay Chinn and Jamie Handrahan.

Special Thanks to Brett Osborne for a superb job, we wish nothing but the best for you in your future. Also, Mirko Ivanusic, thanks for your kind ways and for rocking out on guitar, all the best to you too my friend.

Thank you to our friends and family’s for supporting us in what we do. Being away from home and on the road can be very hard for us and we know it is hard for you too. We love you all for giving us a chance to make a difference in someone’s life through our music.

Last but not least our Fans! Thank you for coming out to our shows and giving us the energy to entertain. We love you all.

Happy Holidays and All the Best to you in the New Year!
Diezel

November 7, 2011

Well, well, well! What have we here? Could it be an "actual," Diezel update on the website that's been dormant for almost a year?  Why yes, our little Glowplugs...and what a year it's been!

We'll keep this one fairly short and to the point but rest assured, we are alive and well and will be keeping you posted much more frequently in the coming year.

Thank you to Dave and Dorothy at The New Frontier in Ft. St. John! Our weekend was great, as usual, and we will keep you in our thoughts Dave. Here's to a quick recovery that will see you back to your old self again! Take it slow my friend...we kinda like having you around!!!

We will also take this opportunity to send a special thank you to Brett Osborne. We wish you all the best through your surgery and the upcoming months as you move forward into a new direction with your life. It's been a good ride Brother. Take care of yourself.

Having said that, we proudly welcome Mr. Kelly Koebel to the Diezel camp! Kelly has been a friend of ours over many years in this industry and it will be both a privilege and an honor to have him on board as our new bass player, replacing Brett.

We have come through many mountains and valleys this past year and we thank you all for your patience and support throughout. Our sound may have changed somewhat, as has our appearance, but we will continue to bring you quality shows and performances that we know will have you coming back to see us every time we hit your town. This industry is ever changing and we have chosen to adapt accordingly along with the tide. Suffice it to say...WE'RE HAVING A BLAST with all of the new songs in our updated repertoire.

So, come on out and say hi!! One thing that will never change is our personalities and our love for what we do!! We always look forward to your smiles.

Strength & Honor,
The Diezel Brotherhood
